Every day in Washington, DC, children, teens, and families walk through our doors carrying invisible weight — trauma, grief, fear, shame, and pain they’ve had to survive alone.

At Paving the Way MSI, we make sure they don’t have to.

We provide therapy, crisis intervention, care coordination, school-based support, and victims-of-crime services that are immediate, compassionate, and accessible to the communities that need them most. Our clinicians are often the first safe space someone has had in years — a place where they are heard, seen, and supported.

But the demand for services is far greater than our resources.
Your donation helps us:

  • Add more clinicians to reduce waitlists
  • Provide therapy for children coping with loss and violence
  • Meet families where they are through school & community outreach
  • Support survivors through our Victims of Crime program
  • Give teens and adults a pathway to healing, stability, and hope

When you give to PTW, you are not donating to an organization —
you’re investing directly in someone’s chance to feel safe, supported, and whole.

Thank you for helping us change lives.

A Few Words From Our Staff & Consumers...

My name is Timmeca Wilson and Ms. Pipkin was my therapist for almost 7 years. We began with Mommy and Me Play Therapy. I wasn't thrilled about having to participate at first.  But, eventually I enjoyed making new connections with my youngest Marion and learning how to meet her at her level.

The pandemic hit and face to face therapy went virtual. I must say I was disappointed because, we were not able to visit Ms. Pipkin in person and play games with her. Which is something I thoroughly enjoyed! Especially if I beat Ms. Pipkin at a game. She was always good at all the games.

For the last almost 3 years I became a solo patient with Ms. Pipkin. She really helped me to stop self sabotaging and understand that parenthood isn't perfect and that we all have progressive work to do.

Ms. Pipkin has taught me over the years that healing is being real with yourself. Realization and accountability are the tools to make better choices. "Stop and Think Before You Respond/React". Are words I will always remember.

Thank you for everything Ms. Pipkin. Love, The Wilson Girls
